It’s camaraderie, that family that you end up building and the energy that you get back from it yourself. When you come to a CrossFit gym everybody knows your name, everybody loves you and you’re a part of something bigger than just getting a workout.
Always be Supportive and offer encouraging words to your fellow athletes. Cheer, clap and encourage others. Your presence is appreciated more then you know. Be ready for high fives when the work out is finished! You are part of an amazing group of people. Although you train as an individual we workout as a team.

01.31.13 Skills Day
Skills Day Fun Day
Thursday, January 31, 2013
Today we worked on a variety if skills.
While many would say Greg Glassman didn’t really come up with anything new, it takes a stroke of brilliance to describe something as complete as overall fitness in such a simple package. Along with this prescription, Glassman also would say something along the lines of, “show me someone with great proficiency in olympic lifting, medium distance track events, and basic gymnastics and you have yourself a hell of an athlete.” In this statement and the paragraph above, the point is made clearly that the program is designed to have people learn and practice new skills. Greg Glassman was able to identify some very powerful and basic physical skills that, when learned, could create a strong, coordinated, agile, and well balanced individual. Not to mention the fact that all of these things are incredibly enjoyable to do once you put in the groundwork and take the developmental steps needed to learn them.
10 General Physical Skills:
There are ten recognized general physical skills. They are cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. You are as fit as you are competent in each of these ten skills. A regimen develops fitness to the extent that it improves each of these ten skills.
- Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance - The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.
- Stamina - The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.
- Strength - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
- Flexibility - the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
- Power - The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
- Speed - The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
- Coordination - The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.
- Agility - The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.
- Balance - The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.
- Accuracy - The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.(Courtesy of Crossfit Journal)
